Microsoft Launches Windows Copilot AI Assistant for Windows 11 Insiders

During the Build conference, Microsoft unveiled Windows Copilot, an advanced AI-powered personal assistant, which is now available in an early preview exclusively for Windows 11 Dev Channel Insiders. This centralized AI assistance tool has generated considerable excitement among users.

In a recent blog post, Microsoft revealed that the first preview of Windows Copilot in the Dev Channel will focus on providing users with an integrated interface. However, they plan to include additional functionality in future previews. Using Windows Copilot is easy – users can click the taskbar button or use the handy WIN + C hotkey.

Once activated, the Windows Copilot panel remains docked to the edge of the screen, allowing users to access it while working with other applications. Users can use the power of Windows 11 Copilot to issue commands and watch the AI effortlessly change settings or perform various functions within the operating system.

Some examples of commands that Windows Copilot can handle are switching to dark mode, enabling Do Not Disturb mode, taking screenshots, summarizing websites, writing stories or even creating images. Windows Copilot currently supports a limited number of Windows settings plugins, but third-party plugins are not supported. Regardless, Microsoft plans to add features and improve the overall Windows Copilot experience in response to helpful feedback from Windows Insiders.

Users must have Windows Build 23493 or later in the Dev Channel and Microsoft Edge version 115.0.1901.150 or a later iteration to enjoy the benefits of Copilot.

As the preview progresses, Windows Insiders have an invaluable opportunity to provide feedback and participate in the further development of Windows Copilot. This step-by-step process allows Microsoft to refine the feature and ensure that it perfectly meets the needs and expectations of users.
